Life can be stressful, yet a balanced exercise program, together with meditation and a gentle vegan lifestyle, can support you to get through the tough times. Here’s another tip to help you relax. The vagus nerve is a key part of the body’s parasympathetic nervous system, often called the “rest and digest” system. Here is an exercise to help engage the vagus nerve and support the body’s natural relaxation response. First, lie on your back. Then interlock your fingers and place both hands behind your head. Next, without turning your head, move your eyes fully to the right. Hold this position until you naturally yawn or swallow and then return your eyes to the center. Repeat the same steps while looking to the left. You can repeat this numerous times if you like. Use this technique whenever you need to relax, such as before sleep or when you are feeling anxious, however, it should not be used when operating vehicles or when a relaxed state could compromise safety. While this exercise may promote relaxation for some people, it is not a substitute for medical or mental health treatment. If you experience ongoing stress, anxiety, dizziness, or other concerning symptoms, consult a qualified healthcare professional.

Looks like the joke of the day is coming our way. Let’s catch it and enjoy, entitled, “A Very Flat Menu.”

A man returned home from an overseas trip. Not feeling very well, he went directly to the hospital from the airport. After a barrage of extensive and expensive tests, he woke up to find himself in a private room. The bedside phone rang. He picked it up and heard:

“This is your doctor. We have discovered that you have a very contagious condition, so we have placed you in total isolation. We’re putting you on a diet of vegan pizzas, pancakes, and pita bread.”

“OK, doctor, but will that cure me?”

“Well, no, but it’s the only food we can slide under the door.”

?!

And now we have a heartline from Artan in Toronto, Canada
