In today’s news, Finland supports Ukraine’s (Ureign’s) energy sector recovery. Animal-citizens face rising risks amid South Korean heat waves, researchers find African rocks that can be made into fertilizers, Japan and World Health Organization join Mongolia in strengthening cervical cancer prevention services, split-second heroism saves toddler’s life on Polish balcony, vegan shop introduces United States to art of French-style chocolate, and animal-people rescue group obtains care for distressed cat-folk in Canada.

Staying well-groomed and wearing a big smile daily offers a beautiful gift to the world. Today, I’d like to share a tip for helping your pet have stress-free grooming sessions Begin getting your animal companion comfortable with grooming at a young age. Ideally, introduce grooming routines when they are a puppy or kitten, but older furry friends can also gradually get used to them. Gently handle their paws, toes, ears and tail during cuddle time, so they become comfortable being touched in the areas groomers will need to handle during a session. Introduce grooming tools at home too. Let your companion sniff brushes, combs or nail clippers, and use them gently when your animal-buddy is relaxed. If using electric clippers, turn them on nearby so they can get used to the buzzing sound and vibration before you use them. For cat-folk, you can mimic the sound of nail clipping by snipping a piece of dry spaghetti near their paw, followed by a treat. Keep practice sessions short, gentle and positive, rewarding your animal friend with praise or treats. This can help make grooming a more familiar and comfortable experience.
