A new life on Kaimana Beach. A Hawaiian monk seal pup born Sunday evening to Kaiwi, a 15-year-old mother known to frequent Oahu’s South Shore. And the baby was rolling around, and the mom was presenting her belly for the baby. It was super sweet. With only about 1,600 Hawaiian monk seals left in the world, every birth is a big deal for this endangered species.
